From the City To Stratford
City banker Punit Nathwani selected Timber Innovations and Wyckham Blackwell for the superstructure of his new-build home just outside Stratford-upon-Avon after their expertise was recognised and recommended to him.
This large timber frame house was constructed with impressive U-values and incorporated extensive oak features – exposed roof trusses, direct-glazed gables plus internal posts & beams – to enhance the character befitting this rural location.
The client was set on timber frame construction, although it’s actually a hybrid, and after three years developing the scheme and waiting for planning the project resulted in a home for his family at the end of 2017.
The client was impressed with speed of build, excellence of thermal insulation and ability to accommodate late design changes. A complex roof structure solution had unique structural features plus very visible oak feature trusses, beams and columns which Wyckham Blackwell Engineered with the roof elements that enabled a one-source package.
For another satisfied client the dream is now a reality. “I would highly recommend timber frame for a self-build, as I would Timber Innovations and their partners,” he said.
WB Timber Innovations and Wyckham Blackwell have a long history of working closely together to provide a single-point partnership for the design, supply and installation for superstructure projects.
